The Sunset Dinner Experience brings together culinary and event experts for a thoughtfully curated evening of connection at Sumac Hill Farm in Centennial, Colorado. Enjoy a multi-course meal in a scenic oasis while sharing in stories with friends, both new and old, in a Jeffersonian-style dining experience. To top off the evening, take pleasure in the picturesque view of a Colorado sunset as it cascades over Mount Blue Sky.

In the fourth season of the Sunset Dinner Experience, Smedley Events hosted a public event on Saturday, August 26th featuring the topic of Belonging.

August 26th is National Women's Equality Day and what better way to celebrate than to share stories of the women in our life who have inspired us to lead by example? How have the women in your life inspired you? What lessons of belonging have you learned that impact how you support others? We invited guests to share as they felt comfortable and listen with the intention to learn something new.

Smedley Events is thrilled to share our 2023 Chefs and Menu for this year’s Sunset Dinner Experience:

Chef Deandre Smith, aka Chef Cool Dre, is a Colorado native born and raised in Denver. For over a decade, he’s worked as a private chef for professional athletes and high-profile celebrities. However, he is also an instructor for middle school, high school, and college students where I teach them how to progress their knowledge within the hospitality industry and basic cooking skills for everyday living. 

He’s been featured on multiple Food Network competitions from Chopped to Battle of the Decades. I have won competitions with the James Beard Foundation and done numerous commercials with HMSHOST ( international airport hospitality group), and partnered with Avocados From Mexico to come up with a new taco recipe and commercials.

Washington-based chef Reginald Jacob Howell has been honing his skills in Spanish/Italian cuisine since taking over as Executive Chef at En Rama in Tacoma, Washington. He takes passion in creating traditional flavors with a modern twist!

 In just under 10 years, he has established himself as an acclaimed well-respected chef in the city and throughout the Pacific Northwest. He first rose to prominence when he won his first Nationally recognized cooking competition in Seattle earning the title of Chefs Plate Champion courtesy of Chefs Roll. Chef Jacob is also the owner and founder of 253° Private Chef Services.

We’re excited to share our entertainment for the evening provided by the talented:

Lisa Selle is a Denver-based singer/songwriter who comes from a Colorado prairie small town. She is also an eighth-grade language arts teacher, a mom, a reader of books, a gardener, and a little bit of a hippie. Lisa plays regularly around south Denver, where fans enjoy unexpected mash-ups, unlikely acoustic covers (for a middle-aged white lady), as well as originals.
